What does 1800R mean on a curved monitor?
1800R means the screen curves along a circle with a radius of 1800 millimetres. How curvature ratings work, and how 1500R, 1800R and 2500R compare.

1800R means a curved monitor bends along the arc of a circle with a radius of 1800 millimetres (1.8 metres). The "R" stands for radius. The smaller the number, the tighter the curve.
Comparing ratings
| Rating | Radius | Feel |
|---|---|---|
| 1000R | 1.0 m | Very pronounced wrap |
| 1500R | 1.5 m | Pronounced, immersive |
| 1800R | 1.8 m | Balanced |
| 2500R | 2.5 m | Subtle |
| Flat | — | No curve |
Why it matters
The rating describes the shape, not how far you should sit. Most people sit 70–90 cm from a curved desktop display, well inside the radius. What the curve does is bring the edges of a wide panel closer to your eyes, so you turn your head less and the whole picture stays at a more even distance.
